nourished minds counseling + wellness October 2023 newsletter
Happy October!
It's hard to believe fall is in full swing and we’re just around the corner from Halloween and the start of the busy holiday season.
This time of year is one that can be busy and stressful, with many events to attend and pressure to make picture-perfect memories with your family and friends.
And amidst all the current turmoil and chaos in the world, it can feel even harder to engage in things that are fun. But we do have to stop and take care of ourselves, and continue to do the things that bring us joy.
For me, Halloween is a great opportunity to do that. I have such fond memories of trick-or-treating with my kids, and I still look forward to enjoying some of my favorite chocolates! This month, I hope you're also able to find little moments of happiness (and at least enjoy some candy!).
I invite you to read on for a few news updates, including:
1. We have welcomed a new therapist, Alex Bauermeister, to the Nourished Minds Counseling + Wellness team.
2. Our practice continues to grow and evolve, including new opportunities for exposure coaching for patients with OCD and eating disorders.
3. We have tips to help you have more fun and take care of yourself this fall.
Thank you for your support and as always, be in touch to let me know if you have questions or feedback.
Be well,
Karen

Exposure Coaching for OCD & Eating Disorders
We're constantly looking for new ways to better serve our clients. We welcomed our psychiatric nurse practitioner Winnie Lee, PMHNP-BC, in the spring and have been offering psychopharmacology and medication management services ever since. Now we’re excited to be partnering with a specialized provider to offer exposure coaching and meal support to our clients who struggle with eating disorders and OCD. Stay tuned to the website for more details on this new service!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. There are so many opportunities to have fun and be playful (and of course, the chocolate doesn’t hurt either!). I encourage you to find ways to embrace the playfulness of this season and find ways to take care of yourself.
Whether it’s choosing a few pieces of your favorite candy to sit and enjoy mindfully, getting creative by carving a pumpkin or dressing up in a costume to go trick-or-treating with your kids, do something fun this month! These little moments of play can help take you outside the stress of everyday life and the chaos of the world and help you focus on the moment at hand.
By taking better care of yourself now, you’ll head into the busy months of November and December ready to embrace the joy of the season.
