Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Often, individuals get “stuck” in negative and irrational thought patterns which create anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. CBT aims to address and challenge these negative cognitions, while developing more realistic and helpful thoughts in order to improve one’s well-being and mood.By partnering with a skilled therapist, you can learn to break the cycle of unhelpful thinking and foster a more balanced mindset.
Acceptance + Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT combines acceptance, psychological flexibility, and mindfulness to address a number of mental health disorders. In therapy, clients clarify their values and take actions which are guided by these principles, leading to a more fulfilling life in line with their personal belief system. ACT also encourages practicing acceptance of difficult emotions and experiences, allowing clients to move forward without becoming overwhelmed by them.
Exposure + Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is a type of CBT that is highly effective in treating OCD, anxiety disorders, and phobias. With the support of a qualified therapist, the client gradually exposes themself to thoughts or situations which create significant distress, while simultaneously learning to not respond with compulsive behaviors or avoidance. This evidence-based approach helps clients reclaim their lives from the grip of OCD and anxiety, with long-lasting results.
Mindfulness
The practice of being in the moment through the body and mind, without judging or pushing away unpleasant thoughts and/or physical sensations. Incorporating mindfulness into therapy helps you build resilience, reduce reactivity, and manage stress with a calm, centered approach.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
With DBT, therapy aims to help individuals develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and be more present. This approach equips you with practical tools to navigate life’s emotional challenges, fostering greater emotional stability and connection in relationships.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health disorder which affects people of all ages, and occurs when a person has obsessions that are followed by compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted intrusive thoughts, images, or urges which trigger intense anxiety and distress. Compulsions are behaviors the person engages in to “push away” or reduce the obsessions. These attempts to get rid of the obsessions don’t work in the long run, and without addressing them through treatment, a person’s symptoms often worsen. OCD often interferes with a person’s ability to work, go to school, engage in meaningful relationships, and ultimately lead a meaningful life. The “gold standard” of treatment for OCD is exposure and response prevention (ERP).
-
Eating disorders affect people of all genders, backgrounds, and ages. Individuals with eating disorders have an unhealthy relationship with food and their body image, which can cause major social, emotional, and physical problems. Left untreated, a person with an eating disorder may have serious medical complications. While eating disorders often develop in the teen and young adult years, onset can occur at other ages as well. Specialized, collaborative, and evidence-based treatment is necessary for individuals struggling with eating disorders.

Depression is a common yet serious medical illness that negatively impacts one’s feelings, thoughts, and behavior. More than just “feeling down,” depression causes extreme sadness and a loss of interest in activities one previously enjoyed. It can also lead to physical and emotional problems that interfere with everyday life. Fortunately, depression is treatable with therapy and medication, if clinically indicated.

Trauma is any type of distressing event that can have an impact on an individual’s ability to cope and function. Traumatic events include, but are not limited to an accident; physical, sexual, or emotional abuse; military combat; or a natural disaster. Shock and denial are typical, immediate responses, while longer term reactions, classified as PTSD, include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and physical symptoms. Different types of evidence-based therapy are beneficial in treating PTSD, including cognitive processing therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems, and CBT, along with medication, if clinically indicated.
