Our Philosophy
Struggling with mental health can feel like wandering through a dimly lit path, searching for a way back to yourself. At Nourished Minds Counseling + Wellness, we’re dedicated to guiding you along this path with care that’s as multidimensional as the clients we serve. With a foundation built on expertise, compassion, and integrity, we view therapy as a collaborative journey that honors each individual’s unique path to healing and growth.
Our approach is anchored by our founder, Karen Chinca, a recognized expert in treating eating disorders, OCD, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). With years of experience training new therapists, presenting on specialized mental health topics, and leading clinical supervision groups, Karen ensures that our practice is grounded in the highest standards of care, training, and ethical commitment.
Our approach prioritizes:
Holistic Healing and Mental Nourishment: We integrate evidence-based therapies and psychopharmacology with supportive, whole-person care, addressing both mind and body. Our services span a wide range of specialties, with tailored support for complex issues like OCD, perfectionism, trauma, and disordered eating.
Support for Every Stage of Growth: Whether you’re seeking help for a specific issue or looking to develop a long-term strategy to navigate life’s complexities, our team is here to provide continuous support that grows with you. We’re committed to being a trusted partner on your journey, whatever stage you may be in.
A Non-Linear Approach to Progress: Healing is a deeply personal and sometimes unpredictable process. We recognize that each individual’s path is unique, with its own challenges, breakthroughs, and complexities. Our approach embraces this non-linear journey, offering compassionate support as you uncover your own resilience and strength.
Continued Growth and Excellence in Training: Under Karen’s leadership, our team values ongoing learning and clinical excellence. Each of our therapists is encouraged to pursue specialized training, supervision, and continuing education, creating a foundation of expertise and accountability that benefits every client we work with.
